Additional info: (Use Case #3) As an administrator, I need to install the appropriate package for Ansible iSCSI implementation. Content Plan: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-ZHELw4UrH4D-d8vdz3J97nsFWiQx0a48s_QfZ1clhs/edit#
Hi, I was looking at this doc: http://10.34.3.139:8080/view/Ceph//job/doc-Red_Hat_Ceph_Storage_2-Administration_Guide%20%28html-single%29/lastBuild/artifact/index.html#_configuring_the_iscsi_target Under the ansible target configuration section: As root, install the ceph-iscsi-config package: # yum install ceph-iscsi-config We do not need to manually install ceph-iscsi-config on the gateway nodes. Enabling the tools repo is enough. The playbook will install ceph-iscsi-config as part of the workflow. Paul, can you confirm this? Thanks, Tejas
Before executing step 2b: yum install ceph-iscsi-ansible The ceph-ansible package should be installed on the Ansible installer or the RHSC node. This may seem like a given ,but I feel better to specify it Also regarding table 9.1 variable seed_monitor, we should have a note somewhere that passwordless ssh should be configured from this seed_monitor to all the gateway nodes. @Paul, need your inputs here. Thanks, Tejas
ceph-iscsi-config is indeed installed by the playbook - it was originally a separate step due to the rpm not being in the channel early on. Now it's there, simply enabling the channel on the intended gateways is good enough. ceph-iscsi-ansible - yes, install it where ceph-ansible is installed - I think that's the rhs console node normally. seed_monitor access not quite. With the early releases I was using rsync from the monitors direct to the gateways and hence needed specfic access. But that sucked. From 1.4 (i think!) onwards, the ansible controller grabs the seed files from the seed_monitor and stores them localally, and then pushes the seed files to the gateways. This process aligns to the ceph-ansible way of doing things, and doesn't need any specific settings for installing the gateways - other than the pre-reqs for the ssh keys that you need for ceph-ansible anyway.
Thanks Paul, then the existing content will suffice.
