Description Paulo Matos 2016-10-14 11:45:16 UTC
Description of problem:

When I get several processes reading and writing gazillions of files at the same time it seems that sporadically the kernel starts generating errors to handle kernel paging request and is followed by a hang.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

$ uname -r
4.7.6-200.fc24.x86_64

How reproducible:

I have a few scripts for testing compilers that once running for enough time will end up in a system crash but it's hard to find a step by step guide.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual results:

Expected results:

No crash.

Additional info:

I understand this information might not be enough to fix the issue. Please let me know what else I can provide or which tests you would like me to run.

Also, htop showed just before crashing several processes consuming 100% of the cpu with a command of '/'. It might however be completely unrelated to the above.

*********** MASS BUG UPDATE **************

We apologize for the inconvenience. There are a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 24 kernel bugs.

Fedora 25 has now been rebased to 4.10.9-100.fc24. Please test this kernel update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel.

If you have moved on to Fedora 26, and are still experiencing this issue, please change the version to Fedora 26.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.
