Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. ssh into remote machine 2. su and then launch virt-manager 3. on a running VM select console. Actual results: virt-manager crashes immediatly Expected results: should display the graphical console Additional info: Doesn't crash when running locally. My workstation is running F24, my servers run F24 or Scientfic Linux 6.8. Virt-manager is fine on SL6.8, also on a remote session to Fedora 19. Doesn't work on Fedora 24 servers.
Seen here too, dmesg lists: traps: virt-manager[23475] trap int3 ip:7f98f5b9215b sp:7ffcf91caec0 error:0 in libglib-2.0.so.0.4800.2[7f98f5b42000+10d000] and kvm: zapping shadow pages for mmio generation wraparound $ rpm -q virt-manager virt-manager-1.4.0-3.fc24.noarch $ uname -r 4.7.6-200.fc24.x86_64
Local machine is Fedora 24 with KDE desktop.
My workstation is F24 with the Mate desktop.
Can anyone still reproduce? If so, run 'virt-manager --no-fork' on the remote host and see if there's any error messages printed on the console (I'm wondering if this is a dupe of bug 1380339)
Actually I'm pretty sure now that this is a dup of bug 1380339, which looks to be fixed upstream and also in f24 spice-gtk 0.32-3, so it should be fixed with latest packages. If anyone is still hitting it, please reopen 1380339 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1380339 ***
