Regarding patchability, if these files aren't modified by the customer, it should work.

I remember we had a knowledgeable article regarding something like this previously, where instance-specific configuration had to be done by manual modification of the module descriptors. Hopefully there isn't an overlap here?

I'm putting this back to QE.  My understanding is that TEIID-4531 would need to be addressed in a later update if needed.
