Description of problem: iso img Fedora-Workstation-dvd-x86_64-25_Beta-1.1.iso from http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/fedora/linux/releases/test/25_Beta/Workstation/x86_64/iso/ consistently fails to install. gives msg: g-io-error-quark //run/install/repo/content/repo/refs/heads/fedora-atomic/25/x86_64/docker-host: no such file or directory (1) Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): fedora 25 How reproducible: tried 3 times ALL failed Steps to Reproduce: 1.boot dvd 2.verify media 3.proceed to install Actual results: see above Expected results: functional install Additional info:
This install attempt is taking place in a VirtualBox VM (VirtalBox-5.1.8). The partition scheme attempted is as follows: /sda1 /boot (2g) /sda2 / (2g) /sda3 swap (7g) /sda4 Extended /sda5 /var (15g) /sda6 /opt (31g) /sda7 /usr (31g) /sda8 /export/home (40.13g) This partition map has been in use for several years... since EARLY Fedora Core (Fedora 11 to Fedora 23/24/25/26). There is also a problem with manually entering partitions. Near the end, the partitions seem to be sorted via partition mount point. I enter the above and the partitions are sorted by mount point which destroys the partition map that I have entered. Sorting is not needed or wanted here. Thanks Rex for the hints. George...
Reproduced on metal (x86_64). I also noticed that the sidebar says 'Fedora Cloud' while the DVD was supposed to be Workstation… and the repository in question is fedora-atomic. Verified this in the shell. /run/install/repo/content/repo/refs/heads/fedora-atomic/25/x86_64 does NOT exist but /run/install/repo/content/repo/refs/heads/fedora/25/x86_64 does. So it seems the installer is confused about which flavor it is? $ sha256sum *.iso ca2aaa84009b55798eb62ab68f5d109a139f0471443e93fb600b1768555435b3 Fedora-Workstation-dvd-x86_64-25_Beta-1.1.iso
This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 25. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '25'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 25 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Fedora 25 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2017-12-12. Fedora 25 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
