Install cinnamon 2. Install cinnamon-applet-globalmenu and add it to panel 3. Install a GTK2 app (for example, Thunar) 4. Run GTK2 app in Global Menu environment Actual results: Thunar have 2 menus - on panel and in window Expected results: Thunar must remove menu in window Additional info: Ubuntu for hiding menus relies on patched GTK2 for supporting gtk-shell-shows-appmenu xsettings. I wrote a patch that adds GSettings key to hiding GTK2 menus to unity-gtk-module. I will attach patch below. This workaround has a side effect, because it can be set only for all desktop environments at once.
This could be problematic in other desktop environments: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-gtk-module/+bug/1307657 This could be set in a non permanent way, to avoid conflicts in other desktop enviroments.
Other desktop environments must not set GTK_MODULES to unity-gtk-module, I think:)
Yes, this probably will be enough, if this type of thing will not generate in Fedora problems between spins. I think it's better avoid any type of conflicts if it's possible...
