Do you have write access to the $NOTEBOOK/.zim directory?
Can you write to page content?
Can you start zim on the command line with 'zim --standalone -D' and paste the output here?

I saw that View -> Notebook Editable was not active. Activating this toggle botton was the solution. (I don't know why it was de-activated).

Sorry for the noise.
