FWIW, this appears to exist in docker 1.10.3-46, too

I'm going to suggest we don't block the release any further and try to fix this in our build process for future releases.

This happens when a patch is applied to a git checkout.  I guess our version of docker is patching over the git checkout.

Perhaps we should just patch out the code that causes this message to show up.

How about we change it to -patched.
