Description of problem: vm-support script tries to collect some GRUB configuration files but no GRUB2 files. Looks like it should also try to grab /boot/grub/grub.cfg, /boot/grub/grubenv, and /etc/default/grub. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): open-vm-tools-10.0.5-2.el7.x86_64
It does not sound critical. I have raised a VMware internal bug for this to fix upstream.

It is 1790124.
WW50 Updates: Tried to use vm-support in open-vm-tools-10.3.0-1.el8.x86_64 (kernel-4.18.0-48.el8.x86_64) and open-vm-tools-10.2.5-3.el7.x86_64 (kernel-3.10.0-967.el7.x86_64) to collect info. Not found info of grub. So, any update for this issue?

Closing as current release. If the resolution or status should be different, please change. Thanks.
This is to confirm that collection of GRUB and GRUB2 configuration files by the vm-support script is not needed. The internal VMware PR 1790124 will be used to track the removal of GRUB file(s) collection from the vm-support script in a future release of open-vm-tools.
