Description of problem: When no hostname is specified Anaconda sets up /etc/hosts correctly: 127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4 ::1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6 However in /etc/hostname there is: localhost.localdomain I think Anaconda should set hostname consistently by using localhost in /etc/hostname.
There's a corner case with cloud-init where this causes cloud-init to configure /etc/hostname wrongly: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1389048 cloud-init should not get confused by localhost.localdomain but still it would seem that using localhost consistently would be the right thing to do. Thanks.
