Description Patrick C. F. Ernzer 2004-11-12 10:05:21 UTC

Description of problem:
Appendix A from 'rh-cm-en-1.0' (2002 version) inccluded info on using
a WTI power switch to power on/off multiple ports at once. This is
useful for setups where a server has redundant power supplies.

I am unable to find this info in the curent rh-cs(EN). Can you please
add that info again?

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
rh-cs(EN)-3-Print-RHI (2004-06-04T17:42)

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. configure WTI power switch so that two ports have the sanme name
2. test manually
3. configure in redhat-config-cluster

Actual Results: Curently the guide lacks info, thus making people
believe that we cannot fence a server with redundant power supplies

Expected Results: Info in the current guide as it was present in the
2002 version.

Additional info:

(WTI network attached power switches, WTI NPS 230 in this case, can
operate multiple ports for fencing if ports are named identical.

As expected, this fenced both power supplies

As resources permit, we will include more device-specific information
in future releases of the Red Hat Cluster Suite: Configuring and
Managing a Cluster manual.
