Description of problem: nemo by default sorts icons on the desktop a->z on the left side of the screen. If icons get moved to a new positon, which worked in F23 ( upgraded to 24 today ), the new position is only temporary until nemo gets restarted, system reboot etc. Conculsion, ist does not safe the position of desktop icons. BIG PROBLEM to impress Windows users with such a bug on the Desktop :( Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): nemo-3.0.6-1.fc24.x86_64

1) another installation with F24 safes its icons. looks like something went wrong while updating the system from f23 to f24. 2) desktop-metadata is overwritten entirely with the following, anytime an icon is moved. .config/nemo/desktop-metadata : [directory] nemo-icon-view-keep-aligned=false nemo-icon-view-layout-timestamp=1477904749 nemo-icon-view-tighter-layout=false [computer] nemo-icon-position=64,22 icon-scale=1 nemo-icon-position-timestamp=1477904749 monitor=0 [home] nemo-icon-position=64,102 icon-scale=1 nemo-icon-position-timestamp=1477904749 monitor=0 [trash] nemo-icon-position=63,909 icon-scale=1 nemo-icon-position-timestamp=1477904749 monitor=0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The rest of the icons is autopositioned => sorted by alphabet c) that attitude doesn't help :D
