Description Nick Coghlan 2016-11-01 10:45:18 UTC
I'm currently getting myself set up to run jobs on http://beaker.qa.fedoraproject.org/ specifically so I can use https://beaker-project.org/docs/user-guide/beaker-provided-tasks.html#distribution-rebuild to smoke test the Python 3.6 binaries in https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/cstratak/python-3.6/build/464733/ against Fedora Rawhide

However, it's been ages since I set up a fresh configuration for the Beaker command client, so I've forgotten how to do it. Looking at the docs on the main site brings me to https://beaker-project.org/docs/user-guide/bkr-client.html#installing-and-configuring-the-client but that doesn't tell me specifically how to authenticate as the user I'm already logged in to the web service as.

By contrast, I recently had occasion to set up the command line client for OpenShift v3, and that had a very helpful integrated "command line" page that was able to tell me the *exact* command to use to authenticate a client with the server (by providing an API token in the example login command).

It would be very nice if Beaker could offer something similar (even if it was just a copy-and-pastable or downloadable config file)

That's a neat idea. OpenStack Horizon has a similar thing too (you can copy-paste a config file with your credentials).

Bear in mind that the CLI is still not usable on beaker.qa.fedoraproject.org because it's using SAML authentication, and we don't have any support for that in the CLI yet.

Hello,

thank you for opening issue in Beaker project.
This issue was marked with component "web ui".
As we are not planning to address any further issues in current UI, due to technical stack and not being able to work with Python 3 codebase, I'm closing this issue as WONTFIX.
New UI will be reimplemented within new versions of Beaker.

If you have any questions feel free to reach out to me.

Best regards,
Martin <martin.styk>
