Description of problem: We have enabled compress in logrotate Our archive /var/log/messages files are named like messages-20161009.gz These files are not included in foreman-debug Logrotate setings /etc/logrotate.conf that we use: ---- # use date as a suffix of the rotated file dateext # uncomment this if you want your log files compressed compress ---- Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. Enable dateext and compress in logroate 2. Force log rotation 3. Run foreman-debug Actual results: rotated /var/log/message-YYYYMMDD.gz files are not included Expected results: The files /var/log/message-YYYYMMDD.gz are included Additional info:
The upstream PR https://github.com/theforeman/foreman/pull/3881 contains also a change that include '/var/log/messages*' that will fix this BZ.
I can confirm, upstream completely changed (and improved) file additions. Unfortunately we passed 6.3 point, so this will be delivered in 6.4.
REL ENG: No patch required for 6.4. Backporting not recommended as this is refactoring of whole foreman-debug.
It is actually in 6.3, sorry about confusion. The change that will fix this is: http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/17044
Verified. 6.3.0 snap 11
