Description of problem: When playing a WMV video in parole (gstreamer based) under 4.8 kernel, the screen locks-up after ~5 seconds with lis 03 12:31:21 eagle.danny.cz kernel: nouveau 0000:01:00.0: fifo: write fault at 0003680000 engine 1b [CE2] client 18 [GR_CE] reason 02 [PTE] on channel 2 [003fbf1000 Xorg[1539]] lis 03 12:31:21 eagle.danny.cz kernel: nouveau 0000:01:00.0: fifo: ce2 engine fault on channel 2, recovering... in journal. Killing the Xorg process restarts the video card(?). Using 4.7 kernel allows to play the video. and same problem even with kernel-4.9.0-0.rc3.git2.1.fc26.x86_64
Doing some pruning, this bug looks to be years old. Please test on a newer kernel and reopen if the problem still exists.
