Description of problem: I am using Fedora 25 and Gnome. Since I've updated from 4.8.5 to 4.8.6, I have a high amount of problems and crashes when I connect/disconnect my laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad T440s) from my docking station, to which 2 external displays are connected (VGA and DVI). Problems include: - When I remove my laptop from the docking station, I have a black screen and no access to my session. When playing with the FN+F7 combo to change the active display manually, the session seems to crash and I have to login again after losing all my opened stuff. - When I put my (already turned on) laptop on the docking station, it fails at detecting the two other screens, when it doesn't simply crash similarly to the previous scenario. It seems I have to boot with the laptop already on the dock to have everything working. Using the previous kernel (4.8.5), everything is working perfectly: complete stability when connecting/disconnecting from/to the dock, never any need to reboot, screens always detected, etc. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Laptop: Lenovo Thinkpad T440s CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4210U CPU @ 1.70GHz Linux: 4.8.6-300.fc25 How reproducible: always in my configuration, as soon as I use 4.8.6 and I try to connect/disconnect from/to the dock. When I go back to 4.8.5, everything works perfectly. Steps to Reproduce: 1. (Find a Lenovo Thinkpad T440s and a docking station?) 2. Install Fedora 25 3. Turn the laptop on while being docked, start working on stuff 4. Remove the laptop from the docking station Actual results: - Open the lid: screen is black, no way to interact - Use FN+F7 several times, until the session crashes and you have to log in again and your previous session is loast Expected results: - Open the lid: your session is still available and working
This seems to be solved in 4.8.7, I cannot reproduce the problem anymore. I will close it for now then. Thanks!
