Description of problem: After updating to kernel 4.7.9-200 my Sony Vaio Pro 13 does no longer boot, it still does with the older kernel from the bootlist. Unfortunately after updating again to 4.7.9-201 it does not boot anymore, and the older kernels are gone from the list, and I don't know which one I was on before 200, that worked. (But I update regularly). The system uses an encrypted disk. Upgrade to kernel 4.7.9-200, it doesnt boot. Boot with the slightly older kernel and upgrade to 4.7.9-201. It still doesnt boot. Actual results: It doesnt boot, if I remove quite from the kernel options, a lot of ACPI errors that pass so fast they are hard to read. Some of them read like No handler or method for GPE .., disabeling event.. They keep scrolling over the screen Expected results: A normal boot Additional info: If you can tell me how to export the boot log, without the ability to boot, I will provide this data. Unfortunately everything goes so fast that i can not read what is printed before this events come scrolling. (Also the rescue entry somehow get stuck after entering the password).
In my last comment I somehow used the wrong kernel numbers, in my grup boot it says 4.8.6-201.fc24.x86_64, so that is the current one that doesnt work, and I had one ending in 200 before (I guess it was kernel-4.8.4-200.fc24), but I don't know any more which one it is because it is gone from the boot selection, this one also didn't work. The one before that worked and booted (I guess it was kernel-4.7.9-200.fc24), even after updating to the last one. Sorry for the confusion in the first comment.
Upgraded to 4.8.7-200, still no change.
Same issue in my Sony Vaio Pro 13 too. Boot on kernek 4.7.9-200 but not in > 4.8.x. Tested 4.8.8 and wont boot.
Is there anything we can do to make this disappear?
Same for me, also on a Sony Vaio Pro 13. This seems to be a duplicate of bug 1397841 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1397841
The issue seems to be resolved in the rawhide kernel 4.9.0-0.rc7.git3.2.fc26.x86_64 which boots again without giving disk problems.
