Description of problem: The Director Installation and Usage guide has very nice instructions on configuring an OSP9 Director, and goes in to some detail about how to configure External Networks as part of the initial post-deployment tasks. The documentation goes on to describe how to create these Overcloud External Networks but fails to detail the creation of a router and how to associate the router with the external network described in the documentation. The Networking Guide goes on to describe how to add a router (https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en/red-hat-openstack-platform/9/single/networking-guide#add_a_router), however there should exist some details in the examples used for creating the External network (https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en/red-hat-openstack-platform/9/single/director-installation-and-usage/#sect-Creating_the_Overcloud_External_Network) Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 9 How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Details in the documentation for creating the Overcloud External Network (https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en/red-hat-openstack-platform/9/single/director-installation-and-usage/#sect-Creating_the_Overcloud_External_Network) to include how to create a router and associate the described External Network with this router, to make the External Network operate properly. Additional info:
Hi Dan, I've added this info to the Provider Network creation: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openstack_platform/9/html-single/director_installation_and_usage/#sect-Creating_the_Overcloud_Provider_Network Let me know if this suits what you're after.
I do not have an OSP9 environment to test this with, but to my recollection the only part missing was the creation of a router. Looks good!
Thanks, Dan. If you run into any issues, or hear of anyone running into issues with this, feel free to reopen this BZ.
