Description of problem: The RHGS Admin guide states that NFS and FUSE can be used together to access Gluster volumes. This is not supported and needs to be updated to reflect the same. Section: CHAPTER 7. Accessing Data - Setting Up Clients Table 7.1. Cross Protocol Data Access Matrix Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Additional info: Document URL: Section Number and Name: Describe the issue: Suggestions for improvement: Additional information:
Automated functional tests and basic sanity is been done where multiple operations(PUT, GET, DELETE,UPDATE) on objects are done and accessed via fuse client to verify the operation. Simultaneous access from FUSE+OBJECT has not been exclusively tested for all scenarios. There might be issues in those areas which is not been tested by QE.
As I mentioned it is not exclusively qualified by QE so as per discussions in previous comments we may not mark this as compatible until it is fully qualified by QE.
Based on comment 19,31 and 35 moving this bug to verified state.
Instead of "Although a Red Hat Gluster Storage trusted pool can be configured to support multiple protocols simultaneously, a single volume cannot be freely accessed by different protocols due to differences in locking semantics. " Use this " A single RHGS volume cannot be concurrently accessed by FUSE, SMB and NFS. This is because of difference in locking symantics"
Changes in comment 39 looks good to me. Moving this bug to verified state.
