Description of problem: I installed Fedora 24-1.2 and then installed (Syrian) Arabic. I created some accounts, all of which have English passwords. At the gdm screen, if "en" is selected when I pick a user, gdm rejects all my attempts to log in. However, if "ar" is selected when I choose a user, and *then* (and only then) change the "ar" to "en", I am able to log in. This is 100% repeatable. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 1:3.20.1-3.fc24 How reproducible: Unfortunately, every time. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install fedora, create an account with English name and password, then install sudo dnf groupinstall arabic-support sudo dnf install 'dnf-command(langinstall)' sudo dnf langinstall ar_S 2. Go to Settings->Region & Language and put Arabic as the first choice for both Input Source and Langauge. 3. Log out. Try to log in. Actual results: I don't get logged in. Expected results: I get logged in. Additional info: I updated all the packages with "dnf update" but that didn't help.
This message is a reminder that Fedora 24 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 2 (two) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 24. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Fedora 24 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2017-08-08. Fedora 24 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.
