Description Răzvan Sandu 2016-11-18 20:01:48 UTC
Description of problem:

Since USB drives are usually larger than the bootable .iso images to be written on them, Fedora Media Writer should be able to accommodate two or more bootable images on the same stick (at least from compatible distros, say various flavours of Fedora/RHEL/CentOS, 32 or 64 bits).

When starting, an USB drive created with FMW should firstly offer a friendly menu (for a few seconds), allowing the user to choose an image to boot - similar to the usual GRUB menu.

The isos on the USB drive should be replaceable independently (via FMW, the user should be able to "edit" an already-created drive, deleting a bootable .iso and writing another, without affecting the other .isos).

Thanks!

Hello,
while this would be a good feature, I think it misses the purpose of FMW as a simple tool to just put Fedora on your flash drive.
While I don't dismiss this idea as a whole, I'm not going to implement this feature. However, if someone steps up and works on a pull request adding this feature, I'm willing to merge it, if it's sane and doesn't make the app's workflow confusing.

Thanks for your response! :)

Please consider, at least, the scenarios of putting, on a large USB stick, ISOs like:

- Fedora 32 & 64 bits
- Fedora Live & Fedora Install DVD
- different Fedora spins (LXDE, Gnome, KDE,...)

IMHO, these scenatios won't be outside the scope of FWM at all.

Best regards and thanks,
Răzvan
