Description of problem:

When the display is NOT set as "Same image in all monitors", with Either Wayland, X, and either lightdm or SDDM VLC crashes.

When the display is set as "Same image in all monitors", then display and system works properly.

How reproducible:
SOLID

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connect an external monitor to the display port. (display-port to HDMI cable)
2. Uncheck "Same image in all monitors" in the display settings.
3. Run VLC with a video file, and just click to make it full screen'

Actual results:
    Then VLC crashes !

Expected results:
     VLC working normally (as in Fedora 24)

Additional info:
      Hardware is AMD A10 with AMD graphics. (PP Brobook 6475B)

I do not see why mate-polkit is involved when vlc crashed?
Do you really know what mate-polkit dooes?
And vlc isn't an official fedora package, it is shipped by rpmfusion.

I agree, please report issue to bugzilla.rpmfusion.org, vlc component (or whoever you got vlc from).
