Description of problem:
Template disks allocation policy is thin provisioned for a VM with reallocated disks .
This happens only on VM's with disk on file (NFS/gluster) storage domains

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
4.1.0-0.0.master.20161111231310.gitd12e6f1.el7.centos

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1.create a VM with 2 preallocated disks from a file (NFS/gluster) storage domains
2.shut down the VM
3.make a a template out of the VM

Actual results:
Template disks allocation policy is thin provisioned for a VM with reallocated disks

Expected results:
Template disks allocation policy should be the same as defined for the VM meaning preallocated disks .

When creating a new template you can select how the disks will be defined, in the popup view in webadmin or in the REST request, can you please specify which one you used and send either the request or screenshot of popup?

Tal,
This is looks really similar to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1362464

Comment 4 Allon Mureinik 2016-11-24 10:01:34 UTC
Tentatively targetting to 4.0.6
If this only happens in the current master, please move it to 4.1.

This behavior is intentional since RFE 1168576

I do not get it , RFE that you mentioned talks about something else which is the ability to choose between raw-sparse and qcow2 in case "Thin Provision" is selected.

In this bug I did not select "Thin provision" but specificly created a VM with2 PREALLOCATED disks & than made a template of disks was changed thin provisioned .

PLEASE CLARIFY how this issue related , or not which means bug reopened.

From RFE 1168576 description:
"
Currently in RHEV-M we provide the ability to chose between two disk allocation policies: "Thin Provision" or "Preallocated".

Scope of this RFE is to request the ability to choose between raw-sparse and qcow2 in case "Thin Provision" is selected, and to make the full stack aware of the choice made.
