Description of problem: Installation of oVirt 3.6 from the official Repo works fine. Integration of a host with the same versions fails due to cluster compatibility issues. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 3.6 How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install oVirt-Manager on CentOS 6.8 and one Worker with CentOS 6.8. 2. Add Worker via oVirt-WebGUI Actual results: Worker is being added but stays inactive. Expected results: Worker becomes active part of cluster Additional info: 2016-11-23 18:15:01,776 WARN [org.ovirt.engine.core.dal.dbbroker.auditloghandling.AuditLogDirector] (DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-71) [42625e19] Correlation ID: 42625e19, Job ID: 911834af-1267-472f-91a9-88349882dd8d, Call Stack: null, Custom Event ID: -1, Message: Host sr-adsy-vditest-01 does not comply with the cluster Default emulated machines. The current cluster compatibility level supports [pc-i440fx-rhel7.2.0, pc-i440fx-2.1, pseries-rhel7.2.0] and the host emulated machines are rhel6.6.0,pc,rhel6.5.0,rhel6.4.0,rhel6.3.0,rhel6.2.0,rhel6.1.0,rhel6.0.0,rhel5.5.0,rhel5.4.4,rhel5.4.0. The problem itself is listed in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1287126 but the actual issue is that there is no package qemu-kvm-rhev for Cent OS 6.8 (While it exists in 3.5 for CentOS 6 and in 3.6 for RedHat).
Starting with oVirt 3.6 we support only EL7 hosts, so qemu-kvm-ev is not built anymore for EL6. Also, oVirt 3.6 has reached End Of Life so please update to 4.0. Closing won't fix since we're not going to build qemu-kvm-ev for el6.
Thanks, could you please update the documentation? Release Notes for 3.6.x show CentOS 6.7 (or similar) to be supported. https://www.ovirt.org/release/3.6.7/ http://www.ovirt.org/develop/release-management/releases/3.6/ Thanks and regards, Dirk
