Description of problem: When the screensaver activates due to idle time, the screen fades out, but then the previous screen reshows, minus the mouse cursor. If the screensaver is invoked by the lock screen applet, or by pressing CTL-ALT-L, then the mouse cursor disappears, but the screen does not blank. When the mouse is moved, then the mouse cursor reappears and the unlock dialog appears. Pressing "Cancel" causes the mouse cursor to disappear, but the screen does not blank. Leaving a message has same result. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): mate-screensaver-1.16.0-1.fc25.x86_64 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. See "Description of problem" Actual results: Screen locks, but does not blank. Expected results: Screen locks and blanks (or other screensaver theme is activated). Additional info:
If a screensaver theme other than "Blank screen" is selected, then the screensaver works as expected.
Do you use more than one monitor? Or only one?
One monitor. However, note journal message: "kernel: nouveau 0000:00:05.0: DRM: Setting dpms mode 3 on TV encoder (output 2)". I never use the TV output - nothing is plugged into it.
Ok, hope dies it happens only with more than one monitor, see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1397900 Let us work on previous report and close this one. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1397900 ***
