Description of problem: KDE desktop. Open dolphin file manager. Press F4 to open terminal. Close dolphin. Machine had just updated some packages. Will repeat once rebooted, to see if that has any effect on it. An hour after this, all the 'konsole's froze. The windowing system kept going, so was forced to rebooted the machine. This took several minutes. dmesg log including several more 'general protection fault' relating to tty attached.
