Description of problem: No login possible after logout Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Fedora 25 Workstation, fresh install How reproducible: Always when using a Nvidia gtx65ti card. No problems with intel gpu only system Steps to Reproduce: 1. Fresh install f25, dnf update to state as on 28/11/2016 19:40 GMT 2. Login a a dumb user or root 3. Logout 4. Login again as the same user, other user or root 5. User selection screen is presented. NO login Actual results: No login for user Expected results: Login for user Additional info: After logout, on Alt+F2 loginctl shows that the user is NOT logged out. Which cause a total block off login via gdm Killing sessions including the gdm session solves te problem, you can login again. Switching users is impossible. UEFI or non microsoft trashed bios install makes no difference. Asus Z77P8-V core i7 Nvidia GT650TI. Obviously this has not been tested. It should be regarded as a blocking bug, so fedora25 is release too early, Waland is not functioning. Setting WaylandEnable=false in t /etc/gdm/custom.conf makes a system that will not boot to login. Running on a core i3 without nvidia card has no problems. Nvidia and linux is obviously a no go? Nouveau still sucks, Nvidia cannot and will not pay attention to 271234 distros of linux.
On the core i3 PC the user is not logged out either, but you can login as the same or other user
Same problems as reported in 1373169. It should have been a blocker for the release...
I am having exactly the same problem as v.ronnen after a dnf system upgrade from fedora 23 to 25 on 13/12/2016. (There was no problem under fedora 23). System is an Asus M32 core i7 Nvidia GTX750.
I am having this issue in VirtualBox, Fedora 25, fresh install. It happens only after I run sudo dnf upadte -y. Updated fully as of 2017/04/09. It is continuation of this bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1266587 My hardware is Intel based (using build-in i5 graphics, no Nvidia in my system)
This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 25. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '25'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 25 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Fedora 25 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2017-12-12. Fedora 25 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
