Description Jordan Sissel 2016-11-29 22:05:14 UTC
Description of problem

scrot is no longer capable of taking screenshots in Fedora 25. It captures a black image only.

'scrot -s' is unable to select a portion of the screen to capture.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. run scrot

Actual results:

Screenshot is black.

Expected results:

Screenshot is taken.

Additional info:

I suspect this is due to Wayland.

Comment 1 Ben Boeckel 2016-12-05 16:41:06 UTC
Yeah, probably a Wayland issue. Upstream is basically dead (last release in 2003, website is non-responsive), so some other tool or fixes to scrot itself will be necessary for Wayland. I'm not going to take over maintenance for this, so closing as WONTFIX.
