Hi there, I am wondering is there a reason that the network manager in fedora 25 does not have the option to make an OpenVPN connection auto connect? Also it would be an amazing feature to add. Thank you, Alec
This is not (primarily) a NetworkManager-openvpn bug, because NetworkManager core would have to support VPN autoconnect first. autoconnect for VPN is currently not possible but would be useful to have. This is basically upstream bug https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=753106. The feature is possibly rather complicated, because VPNs are treated very different from regular devices, where autoconnect works. I mean: don't hold your breath for this to be implemented, but it certainly should (patches welcome!).
This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 25. Fedora 25 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2017-12-12. Fedora 25 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.
