Additional info: Once I run firefox by hand I see the page in the new firefox window.

Jan, Are there reproducer steps for repro on a fresh install of rhel? If not, can we poke around on the box on which this is broken?
Hi Chris this happend in the box jstavel-rhel6-latest.usersys.redhat.com I can add ssh key if it helps you. BTW: it is central-ci instance so root access is as usual. Jan
Once I have notices a quick note from firefox about updating some plugins.
I am sorry I have forgetten that I have tested this case in my own virtual. Hm, I will try to create central-ci box for this case.
Jan, We tried a few things on jstavel-online-doc-usecase.usersys.redhat.com, and; unfortunately, somehow got the host into a state where firefox launches as expected. It takes about 6 seconds to launch, so we were curious if it is possible that sub-man-gui was terminated before firefox had a chance to launch. It's also possible that we simply unintentionally put firefox on the host into a better state. Please take a look, and see if you can still reproduce on the host. Thanks, Kevin
Hello Kevin, you're right the problem disappeared in the server. I will install new instance with the problem. I do not have any idea to catch the firefox problem now. We will see said a blind man. Regards, Jan

Hello Kevin. I have prepared new box with the bug. The name of the box is: jstavel-rhel69-beta-server.usersys.redhat.com rhsm-qe.pub key for ssh is installed for root access. Hi, I can't reproduce this bug at RHEL 6 as well at RHEL 7. BTW: no new windows is opened using new instance of firefox running under root, but new tab is opened in existing instance of firefox. It was described with more details in this bug: 1440125. It seems there was some progress in firefox or xdg-open.

'Online documentation' works in RHEL7 latest Workstation (tested with Rhel7 Snapshot 2) 'Online documentation' does not work for RHEL6 latest Workstation http://download.eng.brq.redhat.com/composes/nightly/RHEL-6.10-20170608.n.0/compose/Workstation/x86_64/os/ rpm -qa | grep firefox > firefox-52.1.0-2.el6_9.x86_64 Firefox appears in top listing for a while. But it goes to <defunct> and disappears accidentally.
