Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Can you please attach the foreman-debug results including when this error occurs. If the title of the BZ was a copy paste then there may be something else going on as the file "repo.xml" is not valid. Satellite should be attempting to retrieve a file named "repomd.xml"

foreman-debug

The foreman-debug attached has been created after applying the latest updates.

katello-installer --upgrade has thrown an exception when reaching the "update_repository_metadata" step.

However, services are up and the mentioned Error still shows up.

Comment 3 Barnaby Court 2016-12-06 20:13:10 UTC
Looking through the debug log:

[ INFO 2016-12-05 22:42:42 main] Upgrade Step: update_repository_metadata (this may take a while) ...
[ERROR 2016-12-05 22:46:51 main] rake aborted!

Redirecting to the installer given the nil:NilClass error

Comment 4 Francisco Javier Lopez Y Grueber 2016-12-07 14:36:39 UTC
This was the first of three try outs.

Causing NilClass was the http_proxy. The error persisted, also, after ensuring the http_proxy was off.

ceph 2.0 osd gone after reimporting new manifest.

After reimporting a new created manifest, things got even worse.

The screenshot shows that the osd ceph 2.0 is now completely gone.

Comment 9 Brad Buckingham 2017-06-02 10:21:14 UTC
Based upon discussion in triage involving PM, ENG, QE and CEE, this is believed to be related to bug 1393580. The recommendation is to close it; however, please feel free to re-open if the issue persists after the solution bug 1393580 has been included.
