Weird, i don't see that with mate-terminal-1.16.1-2.fc25.
1.16.1 use this fix commit https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-terminal/commit/8fdadba38082465cc9cf2df5e9af5436190240c6

Are you shure you mean mate-terminal-1.16.1-2.fc25 ?
Because 1.16.1 have the fix for this issue.
