go1.7.4 (released 2016/12/01) includes two security fixes. See the Go 1.7.4 milestone on our issue tracker for details.

We need these for properly handling pulling of container images.

we'll need to move to 1.7 for docker as well since 1.12.x contains a patch (https://github.com/projectatomic/docker/commit/17e592835a927b69f6ad6b639d0eebfeaf02c27d) which requires 1.7 (it builds fine in 1.6 but it doesn't deliver the feature with 1.6)
