Proposed title of this feature request [RFE] Host Collections should include an overview of hosts' status (applicable errata, last report, etc.) without needing to select each host What is the nature and description of the request? The Host Collections tab shows which hosts are currently in a collection, but not their overall status (such as applicable errata or last report). Being able to view this information in a summary tab or without having to drill down on each host would be desirable. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here) There currently does not appear to be a way to sort hosts by collection in Hosts > All Hosts or Hosts > Content Hosts. How would the customer like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here) An added "Status" tab to the Host Collections page would be preferable. Is there already an existing RFE upstream or in Red Hat Bugzilla? No. Does the customer have any specific timeline dependencies and which release would they like to target (i.e. RHEL5, RHEL6)? No. Is the sales team involved in this request and do they have any additional input? No. Would the customer be able to assist in testing this functionality if implemented? Yes.
When providing the solution, please be sure to implement it for both UI and CLI.
In Satellite 6.2, the following is possible: 1. go to Hosts -> Content Hosts 2. search by host collection (e.g. host_collection = collection1) This will list all content hosts in that collection and include info such as: - subscription status - installable errata - os - environment - content view - registered (date/time) - last checkin (date/time) Does this address this RFE?
Hi Brad, Thank you for clarifying this; I shared with the customer and they said that this is perfect as they are working towards upgrading to Satellite 6.2 soon. This RFE can be closed out. Thanks again!
