Description of problem: Kernels after 4.7.5-200 will not boot on my HP laptop. GRUB loads the kernel and initrd (as verified by putting `echo WTF` after the initrd line), but nothing happens after that. I tried removing `rhgb` and `quiet` from the kernel options, but it makes no difference. Adding `rdshell` gives no additional output. It does not make it as far as prompting for the passphrase for my LUKS-encrypted root volume, so I suspect it's something related to that, but I can't tell. There are no entries in the systemd journal. I've searched for solutions and can't find anything. I'm not sure where to go from here to troubleshoot. Tried kernel 4.9.3-200.fc25 yesterday, with the same behavior.
