rhel-osp-director: The minor update takes too long to start. The user experience is bad.

instack-undercloud-5.0.0-0.20160930175750.9d2a655.el7ost.noarch

Steps to reproduce:
Run "openstack overcloud update stack -i overcloud"

Result:
Itakes a few minutes until I see the following line:

"starting package update on stack overcloud"

And then a few more minutes until I see:
IN_PROGRESS

Expected result:
If the system needs to wait that long before starting - some additional messages should be printed for the user doing the update. Otherwise one might think that the update is stuck.

I don't think this is a blocker for OSP10. Brad, can you write some doc text for this issue though?

Comment 1 Jaromir Coufal 2016-12-13 19:01:44 UTC
Just cloning for doc_text in OSP10.
