Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because
the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description of problem:
We can associate multiple compute profiles to a particular host group however if we select another compute profile on Hosts->New Host page, 'Interface' settings doesn't get reflected.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Satellite 6.2*
How reproducible:
Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create two compute profiles on the satellite server with different interface settings.
Infrastructure-> Compute Profiles -> 1-Small -> <Compute Resource> -> Network interfaces : Name : eth0
Infrastructure-> Compute Profiles -> 2-Medium -> <Compute Resource> -> Network interfaces : Name : eth1
2. Create new host group with Compute profile : 1-Small
3. Create New Host
a. Host -> New host
b. Host Group : new host group
c. Go to 'Interface' tab and click on Edit -> here you will find all the settings populated from '1-Small' compute profile.
d. now click on the 'Host' tab -> click on 'Inherit'(Compute profile) -> select '2-Medium' from the list
e. Now, again go to the 'Interface' tab and click on Edit -> you will find details associated with '1-Small' compute profile.
Actual results:
It does not populate the correct parameters.
Expected results:
It should reflect the changes as per the associated compute profile.
Additional info:
The issue seems to be related to the 'Interface' tab only.
I'm seeing this in my customers Satellite 6.2.12 as well.
If the Compute Profile is changed "on the fly" on the Host tab in Hosts -> New Host, it is not reflected under Interfaces, even though the settings on the Virtual Machine tab are updated.
If the Compute Profile is set in the Host Group, the Interfaces tab is updated correctly when the Host Group is selected.
Expected result: If you change the Compute Profile in Hosts -> New Hosts, the settings in the Interfaces tab are updated accordingly.
Thank you for your interest in Satellite 6. We have evaluated this request, and we do not expect this to be implemented in the product in the foreseeable future. We are therefore closing this out as WONTFIX. If you have any concerns about this, please feel free to contact Rich Jerrido or Bryan Kearney. Thank you.
