Github abrt abrt issues 1196 0 'None' open Support for Flatpak applications 2020-08-04 14:13:50 UTC

Description Christian Stadelmann 2017-01-30 10:18:06 UTC
Description of problem:
When a sandboxed application crashes, abrt fails on it.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
abrt-2.9.0-1.fc25.x86_64
flatpak-0.8.2-1.fc25.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. have any flatpak application crash
2. open gnome-abrt or run abrt-cli
3. try to report crash

Actual results:
$ abrt-cli report /var/spool/abrt/ccpp-2017-…
Error: No segments found in coredump './coredump'
('report_uReport' exited with 1)

Expected results:
Be able to report bug.

Additional info:
This issue might be caused by both flatpak and abrt, I don't know.
The bugs probably need to be reported to GNOME Bugzilla, because GNOME is distributing them.

Comment 2 Fedora End Of Life 2017-11-16 18:58:48 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 25. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '25'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 25 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 3 Jan Kurik 2018-08-14 10:57:48 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 29 development cycle.
Changing version to '29'.

Changing version to 32.

Comment 6 Miroslav Suchý 2020-08-04 14:30:48 UTC
We did some investigation about this year ago. See
  https://abrt.github.io/abrt/container/exception/flatpak/python/2019/03/11/flatpak-problems/
It results in few BZs against Flatpak. This will be a big work.
Do not expect it any time soon.
