Description of problem: BSB Format (Nautical Chart Format) not enabled Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): gdal-2.1.2-5.fc25.x86_64 How reproducible: Very Steps to Reproduce: 1. "gdalinfo --formats | grep -i BSB" returns nothing 2. 3. Actual results: Nothing Expected results: BSB format info Additional info: Checking the gdal source code indicates that BSB is subject to US patent 5,727,090 and licenced to Maptech. Checking the spec file shows "--without-bsb" to disable BSB. Um ... any possibility of changing this ? The source code (gdal/frmts/bsb/bsb_read.c) indicates that the patent is only for *writing* BSB files. I guess I could work around it with an environment variable : GDAL_DRIVER_PATH Cheers

Like you said, the bsb driver is considered legal by the developers, as far as reading goes and that is all it does. It was me who added the --without-bsb. I guess I didn't read the comment thoroughly enough then. I think we can enable it. For reference: Debian left it enabled.
The ticket metadata says Rawhide, but I guess you want that in current releases too?
Yes the current releases would be great. Thanks !
