Description of problem: ov511's webcam kernel module has a problem. The more you reduce the captured image size, the more darker it gets. Eg. If the image is captured at full vga (640x480) resolution, light is fine. If it's done at 320x240, the image is barely visible. And if you use, for instance, 160x120, all you get are black pixels. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): All 2.6 kernels. How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1.capture an image (on any application which can use ov511) with 640x480, for instance. 2.ajdust brightness settings. 3.reduce resolution Actual results: The image gets darker. Expected results: The image remains the same brightness.

This is a mass-update to all currently open Fedora Core 3 kernel bugs. Fedora Core 3 support has transitioned to the Fedora Legacy project. Due to the limited resources of this project, typically only updates for new security issues are released. As this bug isn't security related, it has been migrated to a Fedora Core 4 bug. Please upgrade to this newer release, and test if this bug is still present there. This bug has been placed in NEEDINFO_REPORTER state. Due to the large volume of inactive bugs in bugzilla, if this bug is still in this state in two weeks time, it will be closed. Should this bug still be relevant after this period, the reporter can reopen the bug at any time. bug is still present in fedora 4 using 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4 - can it be reopened? I will upgrade this machine as soon as I can to fedora 5. Until then, it can be stated as fedora 4 and still an issue.
