Description of problem:
The slmodem drivers for Smart Link Soft Modem no longer work with
kernel 2.6.9-1.724_FC3
The slamr.ko module gives errors 

slamr: Unknown symbol get_device
slamr: Unknown symbol put_device
slamr: Unknown symbol device_release_driver

on loading.

This problem exists with both slmodem-2.9.9 and slmodem-2.9.10.
Kernel version 2.6.9-1.681_FC3 and earlier did not have this problem.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. make and install slmodem Smar Link modem drivers
2. modprobe slamr
3.
    

Actual Results:  Module fails to load.  Messages 
slamr: Unknown symbol get_device
slamr: Unknown symbol put_device
slamr: Unknown symbol device_release_driver
in syslog.

Expected Results:  Module should load without error.

this binary module shouldn't be touching these.
If the export came back it would be _GPL, which would be useless
for them. Complain to the slmodem authors.
