Description of problem: As of this morning the plugin showed me 'no data' and when I clicked it told me to set the location; I've had the same location set for years so it seems to have lost it. Adding the location back has fixed it Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): xfce4-weather-plugin-0.8.9-1.fc26.x86_64 How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Thanks for the report. Was there anything different in your system when this happened? Is this reproducible in anyway? Any chance the network connection on your laptop was lost when this happened?

Not that I can tell; I've not changed that setup in ages and from what I can tell from the logs I don't think the relevant packages have been updated in a while. > Is this reproducible in anyway? Any chance the network connection on your > laptop was lost when this happened? No, seems fine today and yesterday after I reconfigured. The networking seemed fine; this was straight after boot - but then I'd got everything else (email irc etc) going before I tried to fight what was going on with that breakage and it hadn't recovered in the meantime.
This also happen to me time to time. I e.g. shutdown machine when it's all set and OK and when it boots again, sometimes not only the location, but also all the whether plugin settings like what to display (e.g. temperature, wind, etc.) are reset to their defaults. I wasn't able to track what is causing it, but it usually happen once per cca. three months. I am sure it wasn't happening in the past.
This could be related to the network connectivity problem. I am using WiFi connection and sometimes after the boot it takes dozens of seconds to autoconnect (because the wpa_supplicant is actively scanning many networks). I understand the plugin doesn't show any data during this period. But sometimes after the network connectivity is gained it shows the current data and sometimes (very occasionally) all the plugin settings including the location is mysteriously reset. I suspected that my SSD disk is wearing out, but it's happening on other machines (with rotary disks) as well. There maybe some race causing it, but I have no chance to debug it due to the random nature of this problem.
