Description Phill O'Flynn 2005-01-14 08:19:28 EST
Description of problem:

i successfully installed (i think) a linmodem rpm onto my system. I
believe it installed correctly as i used kppp to recognise the
existence of the modem. which it did. /dev/modem and /dev/ttyLT both
exist on the system until reboot. after browsing the /dev/ directory,
the two files are no longer present

The /dev filesystem is dynamically created at boot; contents are not
preserved across reboots. Check the udev documentation for how to
configure it to add custom entries.
