Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 1455020
The term "Certificate Authority" needs to be explained in more detail
Last modified: 2018-08-31 11:19 EDT
Document URL: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_satellite/6.2/html-single/installation_guide/#configuring_satellite_server_with_custom_server_certificate Section Number and Name: 3.4.6.1. Obtain an SSL Certificate for the Satellite Server Describe the issue: This section states "Send the certificate request to the Certificate Authority." but this term is not explained elsewhere. This could lead to confusion on the part of customers, unsure if a "Certificate Authority" is part of Satellite itself, or separate entirely. Suggestions for improvement: Add a brief description of a Certificate Authority, including a brief description of what it means to "Send the certificate request". Additional information: This BZ ticket was raised as an outcome of the following Customer Portal discussion: https://access.redhat.com/discussions/3034561.
Assigning to Misha for review. Misha - all we should need to do for this bug is provide one or two sentences describing what a Certificate Authority is in a very general sense, and what it means to 'Send a certificate request' as per Russell's comment above.
These changes are now live on the customer portal.
