Description Jeffrey Cutter 2017-07-10 15:26:59 EDT
Description of problem:

Scheduled VMDB database backups fail silently with no logging of failure or notification mechanism.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

5.8

How reproducible:

Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Setup a scheduled backup with a bogus mount point and allow it to run.
2. Note no notification and review logs.
3.

Actual results:

No notification. Log shows backup started but nothing further past mount of NFS share.

Expected results:

It would be nice if it e-mailed the administrator or a provided e-mail field.
Some logs of the backup failure would be very helpful.
