Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 1469878
metalink url for repo "fedora" still returns urls with "development" instead of "releases" in path
Last modified: 2017-07-12 07:55:53 EDT
Created attachment 1296669 [details]
Result of "wget 'https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-26&arch=x86_64'"
Description of problem:
/etc/yum.repos.d/fedora.repo contains the lines
Testing the return value with
lists mirror sites with contains
in the urls, instead of
(as in previous releases, for example Fedora 25)
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Fedora 26 (Release, used Everything Netinstall x86_64)
Always (at least today and yesterday)
Steps to Reproduce:
1. wget 'https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-26&arch=x86_64'
URLs contain /development/
URLs contain /releases/
I don't know if assigned component is right for this type of report.

This is expected, it gives mirrors time to catch up, the flip over (which is nothing to do with fedora-release) happens about a week after release on the MirrorManager side of things and is managed by fedora infra team.
Ok, thanks for the explanation.
Does this mean that the contents of both directories are the same (at the moment)? So the result of an installation now and later, after the flip over, would be the same (despite of updates)?
