Description sbadhwar 2017-08-03 02:11:49 EDT
Description of problem:
Currently, in Satellite 6.3 Snap Releases, katello-remove provides only a brief output by showing, Removing RPM packages.
Sometimes, when katello-remove is taking a lot of time, it is desirable to have a verbose output of what katello-remove is doing.
If possible, can we get this feature enabled again in 6.3 as it was present in 6.2 release.

What else can we print? If you see the source, all this script does is to remove various files. Before removing any group of files, there's a message explaining what is about to happen.

Could you be more specific? Maybe we can make the script show what's removing on every step (file by file) but this is was not the behavior on 6.2.

So far I can't ACK this as I don't understand what else should be shown. Let me know if I'm missing something though!

So, with Satellite 6.2, we had an output displaying which RPM is currently being removed. With 6.3, all it shows is Removing RPMs.

It would be great, if we can see which RPM is currently being removed so as to have some information about what the script is doing.
