[RFE][dedicated] alternative backend storage option for PV on Dedicated to use it from multiple pods
Last modified: 2018-09-06 17:52:00 EDT
1. Proposed title of this feature request [RFE][dedicated] alternative backend storage option for PV on Dedicated to use it from multiple pods 3. What is the nature and description of the request? 4. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here) - One dedicated customer wants persistent volume to be shared with multiple pods like https://docs.openshift.com/container-platform/3.6/install_config/storage_examples/shared_storage.html - However, current default storage EBS does not allow us to achieve it. So, we would like to have alternative backend storage option for PV like NFS. 5. How would the customer like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here) - They would like to have an option to use alternative backend storage like PV instead of EBS. 7. Is there already an existing RFE upstream or in Red Hat Bugzilla? - There is a RH internal Trello only - https://trello.com/c/Jk0Dya4w/848-dedicated-support-shared-storage-efs-etc 9. Is the sales team involved in this request and do they have any additional input? - OpenShift operation (Dedicated/Online) team - http://post-office.corp.redhat.com/archives/sbr-shift-list/2017-August/msg00083.html
Please note that due to this issue, if pods have to mount a PV, the pods cannot scale up at all.
