Description SteveT 2017-09-20 07:45:49 UTC
Description of problem: When playing various radio stations (including defaults like HBR1) the playback starts ok, but after a few seconds (< 10) the sound stops even though it isn't buffering. Stopping and starting the station again has the same effect - ie the playback starts and then stops. The issue is not just ogg related (assuming HBR1 is ogg) as BBC feeds exhibit the same issue (http://bbcmedia.ic.llnwd.net/stream/bbcmedia_radio2_mf_q)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):3.4.1

How reproducible:Start rhythmbox, select radio, select HBR1.com

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Start rhythmbox
2.select radio
3.select HBR1.com

Actual results: Playback starts, but then sound stops after a few seconds.

Expected results: Continuous playback

.... the 'tick' line appears to be when the sound stops..

Comment 1 gkrithi8 2017-11-18 08:50:17 UTC
Duplicate of bug 1302007 ?

Comment 2 SteveT 2017-11-19 08:12:27 UTC
I don't think so. In this case the time still increases as though the station is playing, but the sound just stops. Used to work perfectly ok...so the issue seems to be a recent 'addition'.

Comment 3 gkrithi8 2017-11-19 08:47:36 UTC
Did you try the steps mentioned in

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1302007#c9

and see if the issue goes away ?

Comment 4 SteveT 2017-11-19 09:23:49 UTC
You're right - disabling the crossfade between tracks seems to cure the sound dropping out.

Comment 5 gkrithi8 2017-11-19 09:39:11 UTC
If so, you can close this bug as a dup, and update the upstream rhythmbox bug at

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=790497

with any information that might help.
