Red Hat Issue Tracker CLOUD-2081 0 Major Verified Upgrade Hawkular Agent to 1.0.1.Final 2020-10-20 15:18:23 UTC

Description Hayk Hovsepyan 2017-11-07 13:55:02 UTC
Description of problem:
Hawkular Javaagent in EAP6/7 Openshift Container have Local DMR disabled, so it is not monitoring the server.

Server log contains:
11:33:53,538 INFO [org.hawkular.agent.monitor.scheduler.SchedulerService] (Hawkular Java Agent Start Thread) HAWKMONITOR010012: Starting scheduler
11:33:53,580 INFO [org.hawkular.agent.monitor.protocol.ProtocolServices] (Hawkular Java Agent Start Thread) HAWKMONITOR010019: Managed server [DISABLED Local DMR] is disabled. It will not be monitored.

According to discussions with lponce and mazz, remote-dmr should be configured to enable monitoring.

Comment 1 Paul Gier 2017-11-07 14:18:24 UTC
docker-registry.engineering.redhat.com/kliberti/eap64-openshift:CLOUD-2081
docker-registry.engineering.redhat.com/kliberti/eap70-openshift:CLOUD-2081
docker-registry.engineering.redhat.com/kliberti/eap71-openshift:CLOUD-2081

I believe these images contain the DR1 agent version (1.0.0.CR7) so they should be tested against the DR1 hawkular services, and the test results should be added to CLOUD-2081.

I'll work on building test images with the DR2 agent version, and update CLOUD-2149 when they are ready.

Comment 2 Hayk Hovsepyan 2017-11-07 17:04:17 UTC
Images from CLOUD-2081 are verified.

The only issue is that CFME UI does not show metrics, but they exists: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1510548

Comment 3 Paul Gier 2017-11-08 18:02:36 UTC
Hayk, can you retest using the new images containing the 1.0.1.Final version of the agent?
docker-registry.engineering.redhat.com/pgier/eap64-openshift:CLOUD-2081
docker-registry.engineering.redhat.com/pgier/eap70-openshift:CLOUD-2081
docker-registry.engineering.redhat.com/pgier/eap71-openshift:CLOUD-2081

Comment 4 Hayk Hovsepyan 2017-11-09 09:48:28 UTC
Hi Paul,

I have tried all 3 images, they contain "Hawkular Agent: Javaagent version 1.0.1.Final-redhat-2" and are started successfully and inventoried successfully.

However I can not finally verify them because Metrics are not showing, blocked by BZ: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1510548
